Kerbala University Publishes a Book Encyclopedia of Wild Plants in Kerbala Governorate

Prof. Dr. Nibal Amteir Tarad, from the College of Education for Pure Sciences/Department of Life Sciences, has published a book on the topic of wild plants in Kerbala Governorate. The 439-page book is divided into five chapters:

Chapter One: Geography and Geology of Kerbala Governorate
Chapter Two: Geography and Geology of Districts and Sub-districts
Chapter Three: Climate of Kerbala Governorate
Chapter Four: Vegetation Cover in Kerbala Governorate
Chapter Five: Wild Plants in Kerbala Governorate

The book aims to provide scientific material for researchers and students in various related disciplines by shedding light on the climatic and geological elements and the nature of the vegetation cover in Kerbala Governorate. It is an illustrated encyclopedia of more than 340 natural or wild plants, each accompanied by a scientific classification, common and scientific name, growing seasons, distribution, and economic and medicinal importance, making it easier for researchers to access and study the plant life of Kerbala Governorate. Researchers from various disciplines collected the plants targeted for study from their natural habitats and determined their growth periods.

This book is an important scientific reference used by plant classifiers to identify and classify plants and document plant diversity in Kerbala Governorate by collecting and classifying wild species found in their various environments (desert, plains, and valleys).
