The College of Education for Pure Sciences organizing a scientific seminar on environmental sustainability and community health
The Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific seminar on “Environmental Sustainability, Community Health, and the Role of Fungi in Research Integration.” The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Ban Taha Mohammed.
This lecture aimed to highlight the importance of medicinal fungi in supporting the concept of environmental sustainability. It emphasized their effective role in treating environmental pollutants and analyzing harmful compounds, as well as their potential as a safe and natural treatment that can be an alternative to chemicals that negatively impact human health and the environment.
The lecture covered several key topics, most notably the role of fungi in improving soil and water quality, their use in treating biological waste and industrial byproducts, and the potential of medicinal fungi in producing safe and natural pharmaceutical compounds.
The presenter recommended focusing on such topics, as environmental sustainability can only be achieved through collaboration among researchers in various scientific disciplines and the adoption of innovative methods that consider human health and maintain ecological balance. She also stressed the importance of research integration between environmental science, microbiology, and medicine to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
