The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific symposium on the expiration of medicines and chemicals. The symposium was presented by Asst. Lect. Farah Jabbar Ali and Asst. Lect. Israa Qahtan Abdul Amir. The symposium aimed to identify the expiration dates of medicines and chemicals and their impact on drug efficacy and stability, as well as the problems caused by drug expiration. The symposium also included several topics, including tips for storing medicines to maintain their efficacy, as well as how to identify the expiration or spoilage of chemicals based on the appearance of certain signs on the material. It also included learning how to properly store medicines to ensure their efficacy and how to dispose of expired medicines safely and properly. The researchers recommended paying attention to such topics to reduce the risks associated with the use of expired medicines, as the method of storing the medicine before receiving it, its chemical composition, and the original manufacturing date all affect the drug’s efficacy.
