Female students wearing the Iraqi abaya at the College of Education for Pure Sciences were honored at a ceremony organized by the College of Law in cooperation with the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine.
The ceremony included 150 female students wearing the Iraqi abaya on campus from the faculties of Law, Computer Science and Information Technology, Education for Pure Sciences, and Education for Humanities. The ceremony was attended by the University President, Prof. Sabah Wajid, and a number of college deans, professors, and students.
The honoring ceremony was held in appreciation of the students’ commitment to wearing the Iraqi abaya on campus, demonstrating their commitment to upholding high moral values ​​and reflecting the cultural identity and authentic societal values ​​that the university seeks to promote alongside its educational mission. University President Prof. Sabah Wajid Ali stated that the university’s role is not limited to education alone, but extends to deeper responsibilities related to preserving cultural identity and instilling noble values ​​in students. He pointed out that such activities strengthen students’ connection to their moral and social heritage, contributing to the development of a well-rounded personality that combines knowledge and commitment to values. Dr. Sabah Wajid thanked the Holy Abbas Shrine for its support of these initiatives, which play a pioneering role in promoting virtuous morals within the university community. He commended the efforts of the Deanship of the College of Law and the deanships of other colleges in fostering values ​​and encouraging students to adhere to them.
