Scientific Workshop

The Biology Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific workshop entitled The Impact of Drugs on University Students and Society. The lecturer (Asst. Prof. Fatima Karim Khader) presented it.

This workshop aimed to educate university students to beware of drugs and stay away from them by choosing a good friend, adhering to good morals, and not drifting with bad friends.

The workshop also included several axes on the definition of drugs, which are plant or chemical substances that have a mental and physical effect on those who use them, causing their body to become lethargic and sluggish, paralyzing their activity, covering their mind, and leading to a state of addiction and habituation.

The researcher recommended the necessity of quitting drugs and staying away from them, either by treatment in clinics and hospitals, awareness through social communication, urging religion and good morals, and guidance through the media.
