Opening the First Edition of the Palm and Dates Cultural Exhibition

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. (Sabah Wajid Ali), and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. (Hamida Eidan Salman), the College of Education for Pure Sciences held a scientific and cultural festival on palm and dates in its first edition.
The College of Education for Pure Sciences opened the (Palm and Dates Cultural Festival) held by the Department of Biology in the College of Education for Pure Sciences under the title (The Palm Tree is a Symbol of Generosity and Giving) in cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. The festival was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. (Haider Muhammad Imran).
The aim of the festival was to spread the culture of afforestation and its importance in environmental balance by increasing green spaces by planting palm seedlings and ornamental plants. And to highlight the status of Iraqi dates and enhance their position as an important agricultural and economic product.
The festival included an introductory speech about the festival given by the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Eidan Salman, followed by a presentation given by the Director of Fadak Palm Farm, Eng. Faiz Issa Abu Al-Maali. At the end of the festival, shields of thanks and appreciation were distributed to the parties that contributed to the success of this festival.
