Announcement of Iraq is Soon Free of Depleted Uranium Waste

The head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi announced that Iraq is soon completely free of depleted uranium.
This came during his visit to the headquarters of the Arab Atomic Energy Commission in the Republic of Tunisia and his meeting with its Director General Dr. Salem Al-Hamdi, where the two sides discussed areas of Arab cooperation in the field of developing energy for peaceful and educational uses.
Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi reviewed the path of the national vision of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission regarding the zero reactor, the research reactor, and nuclear power plants, noting that the efforts of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission are continuing to purify the remaining areas and that the final announcement of Iraq being completely free of depleted uranium waste will be soon.
The head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, extended an official invitation to host the 17th session of the Arab Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy in Baghdad.
For his part, the Director General of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency, Dr. Salem Al-Hamdi, expressed his happiness at receiving the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, who confirmed Iraq’s determination to regain its position in the Arab Atomic Energy Agency, noting at the same time the agency’s need for Iraqi expertise and to benefit from the great scientific momentum that Iraq possesses, and appreciating the generous invitation extended by Iraq to host the work of the 17th session of the Arab Conference organized by the Arab Atomic Energy Agency for the peaceful uses of atomic energy.
