A teacher from the Department of Life Sciences Publishes Research on Taxonomic Study for the Genus Bupleurum L. (Apiaceae) in Iraq Using Chloroplast Gene RPL16

Publishing Scientific Research

Dr. Ban Abdul Hussein Al-Khafaji, a lecturer in the Life Sciences Department, published a scientific research entitled (Taxonomic study for the genus bupleurum L. (apiaceae) in Iraq using chloroplast gene RPL16), in the Indian Journal of Public Health Research and Development. ) and has an impact factor of 2.219.
The research boiled down to explaining the genus (Bupleurum) as belonging to the family (Apiaceae) in Iraq. It is found in the northern region of Iraq, especially in Mount Hasarost (northeast of Erbil) in the Rawanduz region. In Iraq, a molecular study was conducted using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology to explore the complete sequence of the chloroplast gene Rpl16, which was identified for four species of the aforementioned genus, and cluster analyzes were used using PhyDE and mega6 programs to analyze the genetic relationship and degree of kinship between the four species.
The research aimed to clarify the genetic kinship relationship between the four species of the genus under study and that they belong to the same genus. We wish her further creativity and progress in the fields of research she is interested in serving our beloved Iraq, and may God Almighty grant her success.
