The Department of Biology Discusses a PhD Thesis on Investigating the Effect of the Magnetic Field and Magnetized Water on Some Life Characteristics

PhD Dissertation Discussion

The Department of Biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a doctoral dissertation entitled (An investigation of the effect of magnetic field and magnetized water on some of the life characteristics of Culex molestus Diptera: Culicidae) by the student (Abeer Farouk Sakin al-Hakim), and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. (Rafid Abbas Ali Al-Essa).
The aim of the thesis was to know the effect of magnetized water and the magnetic field on some reproductive characteristics of Cx.molestus mosquitoes by treating the second and fourth larval instars and the pupal stage, by investigating the response in the average ages of full adults males and females, and the effect on some productive traits, and preparing fertility and life tables. The thesis recommended the use of the magnetic field in the integrated management of mosquitoes and in the light of the results reached:
Magnetic Fields vs Gamma Rays: The Future of Mosquito Management
Magnetic Fields vs Pesticides: The Future of Mosquito Management The student obtained an honors degree.
