Iraqi universities gain competitive positions in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings

The Times Ranking of Young Universities announced its results for the year 2023, which included six hundred and five international universities that are no more than fifty years old.
The official results (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/…/young-university…) showed that four Iraqi universities had achieved important competitive positions, as the University of Babylon came in the center (201-250), the University of Technology (301-350) and the University of Anbar ( 351-400) and the University of Kufa (501+).
The Times classification of young universities is based on evaluating institutions according to thirteen indicators divided into five main criteria: education (30%), scientific research (30%), citations (30%), international outlook (7.5%), and knowledge transfer (2.5%).
It is worth noting that Iraqi universities and colleges record their increasing competition in international rankings, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad appeared within the chemical engineering major, the (The Times) classification, in which eight universities are located, and the (QS) classification, in which there are five universities. Universities and the (Greenmetric) classification, in which seventy-three Iraqi universities and colleges entered, and the URA classification, in which four Iraqi universities are located, in addition to the (Webometrics) classification, which recorded the attendance and competition of more than one hundred Iraqi universities and colleges.
