The Head of the Quality Assurance Division at the College Participates in the Celebration of World Mathematics Day at the Kerbala Governorate Education Directorate

World Mathematics Day


The Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at the College and an instructor in the Mathematics Department, Prof. Dr. Riyad Dalfi Ali, participated in the celebration held on the occasion of World Mathematics Day in Kerbala Governorate. The event was held in cooperation with the General Directorate of Education in Kerbala Governorate, the Al-Anwar Center for Development and Education, and the Al-Ameed Educational Group affiliated with the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine. The event was held in the main hall of the School Activities Department, under the theme “Mathematics, Art, and Creativity.”
The event witnessed a wide official and academic presence, with mathematics professors from various Iraqi universities and education directorates participating. The Director General of Education in Kerbala Governorate, Mr. Wameed Khalil Al-Tamimi, opened the festival with a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of mathematics as a scientific subject in enhancing logical thinking among students. He also praised the efforts of the Iraqi Mathematics Association in spreading the culture of mathematics using innovative methods. Prof. Dr. Nouri Al-Mayah, President of the Iraqi Mathematical Society, also delivered a speech in which he discussed the role of mathematics in the advancement of civilizations. He emphasized the importance of enhancing mathematics curricula with modern teaching methods that contribute to attracting students’ interest and motivating them to engage with the subject. The celebration concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation and shields of appreciation to distinguished professors in recognition of their efforts in serving the educational process. Participants in the World Math Day then visited the Al-Ameed Educational Group affiliated with the Al-Abbas’s Holy Shrine in the holy city of Kerbala. The group’s scientific and pedagogical capabilities were explained, highlighting its contribution to building our great country, Iraq.
