Education Announces Amendment of the Draft Instructions for Scientific Promotions

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the amendment of some paragraphs of the draft instructions for scientific promotions (167) for the year 2017.
The text of the letter addressed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, to the Council of State stated that the amendment includes the following data:
– Paragraphs related to (H-index) are specific to scientific specializations without humanities and its value is reduced to (1) for the rank of lecturer and (2) for the rank of assistant professor and (4) for the rank of professor.
– Adding a text that allows the Research and Development Department to amend the (H-index) index according to controls issued by it after three years from the date of entry into force of the instructions.
– The instructions will come into force one year after the date of their publication in the Official Newspaper.
