Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences Attends the Activities of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week Organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Cooperation with Al-Zahra University (Peace be Upon Her) for Girls
The honorable Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. (Hamida Eidan Salman), attended the activities of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for girls. The scientific week includes a series of intensive activities that continue over four days, including specialized workshops, scientific seminars, and lectures given by an elite group of academics and researchers from Iraqi and Iranian universities. The honorable Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. (Naeem Al-Aboudi), stressed that this event represents a golden opportunity to enhance scientific and cultural relations between Iraq and Iran, noting that the ministry is working to expand the horizons of cooperation with Iranian academic institutions to achieve the aspirations of peoples in sustainable development. For her part, the President of Al-Zahra University (PBUH) for Girls (Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani) expressed her happiness with this fruitful cooperation, stressing that the university will seek to support joint research projects, especially those that focus on empowering women in scientific fields. She added that this scientific week will be a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences between researchers and students from both sides. During the events, a number of memoranda of understanding were signed between Iraqi and Iranian universities, which aim to establish joint research programs, exchange students and academics, in addition to organizing international scientific conferences in the future. It was also agreed to establish a financial support fund for joint research projects between the two countries. The Iraqi-Iranian Science Week comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran, at the academic and cultural levels. This event reflects the commitment of the two countries to support scientific research and innovation as a key tool for achieving sustainable development. This scientific week is considered an important step towards deepening cooperation between Iraq and Iran in the academic and research fields, as its results are expected to contribute to launching joint initiatives that benefit the scientific community in both countries, and enhance the region’s position on the global scientific research map.
