Organizing a Workshop on the General Population Census
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a workshop on the general population census and its impact on the development movement in Iraq. The workshop, which was attended by representatives of the Supreme Commission for the General Population and Housing Census, included a presentation on the importance of the role of the Ministry of Higher Education in the success of the census process by employing its scientific cadres, providing its expertise, community awareness, and providing the necessary technical competencies to analyze data and invest the census results to improve educational and research plans in a way that achieves the goals of comprehensive development. The workshop, which was attended by a group of members of the Ministry’s center, addressed the importance of the general census as it provides an integrated information system on the economic, social, health, and educational characteristics of the population, living conditions, and the surrounding environment.
