The Department of Physics at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a training course (Scientific Training for the Use of Telescopes). The course was taught by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ziyad N. Najm, Asst. Dr. Doaa D.Kandil, and Asst. Lect. Abrar A. Ibrahim. The course aimed to explain in detail how telescopes work, their types, and the advantages and disadvantages of each type. The course also included several topics on the practical training curriculum for seeing with telescopes by using a solar filter to protect the eye, and one of the observers was able to see the disk of the sun during the day through the telescope. The researchers called for interest in such topics because of the importance of the telescope to observe distant objects through the use of lenses and curved mirrors, which is one of the important and essential tools in astronomy to study planets, stars and other objects in outer space.
