The First Regional Forum to Exchange Experiences in the Field of Women’s Issues

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in the first regional forum to exchange experiences and enhance Arab cooperation in the field of women’s issues, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, nominated by the National Department of Iraqi Women in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
The Ministry of Higher Education was represented by the Director of the Women’s Affairs Department, Dr. Nada Al-Abadi, in the presence of Arab and international women’s academic and cultural figures. The forum discussed the criteria for programs aimed at developing the levels of Arab women on the scientific, academic, social and economic levels, and empowering women and girls within the frameworks of national and regional priorities in the Arab and Islamic region.
The participants discussed the conditions of the Arab political environment and the possibility of enhancing the status of women in political work, and raising their own capabilities as they represent a partner in success, and the necessity of creating appropriate climates to create opportunities for their participation in decision-making in state institutions.
Director of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nada Al-Abadi, indicated that the ministry is interacting with the Iraqi National Women’s Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers regarding developing the levels of women teachers, affiliates and students and providing conditions for creativity and achieving scientific achievements. The recipient reviewed the levels of climate change and food systems, and the budgetary measures that respond to women’s needs and secure the elements of a decent life for them.
