The Department of chemistry discusses a master thesis on the preparation and diagnosis of ketosan nanocompounds associated with some commonly used drugs
The Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of education for pure sciences at Karbala University discussed a master’s thesis entitled (preparation and diagnosis of ketosan nanocompounds associated with some commonly used drugs and the study of their ability to inhibit the spread of colon cancer). For the student (Osama and Dan Abdul Nabi), under the supervision of Professor Dr. (Mohammed Nazim Bahgat), and assistant professor Dr. (Heba Alwan Abdul Salam). The aim of the thesis was to prepare new ketosan nanopharmaceutical compounds, study their potential to inhibit the spread of colon cancer in the cell line, study the biological effectiveness of ketosan nanopharmaceutical compounds after exposing them to cells, determine the survival rate of cancer cells, study the stimulation of reactive oxygen complexes that work on programmed cell death, and gene expression. The study recommended the preparation of other biocompatible polymers that have the ability to biodegrade and non-toxic and experiment with the use of other drugs and link them with biocompatible polymers to reduce the toxicity of cancer cells and the development of nanoparticles properties of some pharmaceutical polymers and their applications in biomedicine. The student was awarded an excellence rating.
