The Department of Biology Discusses a Master Thesis on the Role of Cellular Kinetics in the Pathogenesis of Toxoplasmosis in Abortive Women in Kerbala Governorate
The Department of Biology at the Faculty of education of pure sciences at Kerbala University discussed a master’s thesis entitled (The role of cellular kinetics in the pathogenesis of toxoplasmosis in abortive women in Karbala governorate). For the student (Heba Ayad Hashem), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kawther Abdul Hussein Mahdi. The message aimed to investigate the infection of toxoplasmosis in women suffering from abortion. And conducting immunological tests to diagnose the disease, including cassette test (immunochromatography) and Lisa to detect antibodies to the parasite in the serum. As well as studying the immune response of patients by measuring some immunological indicators including some cellular kinetics, which include IL-27,IL-8, IL-. The message also included the results of the current study by stating that the toxoplasmosis parasite is one of the most important parasites causing abortion for infected women and may lead to congenital malformations of the fetus or fetal death, so it poses a great danger to pregnant women. The enzyme-linked immunoassay (Elisa) technique is one of the specialized methods used in diagnosing the parasite and the influence of some epidemiological factors such as age, nature of housing, the presence of cats and educational level on the extent of the spread of the parasite. The study recommended conducting orientation campaigns and wall posters explaining about the life of the parasite and the methods of its transmission and the adoption of screening for parasite infection in Primary Health Care Centers for women and in hospitals, among other routine examinations and conducting studies on the parasite among animals because it is one of the common parasites between humans and animals. And attention to public hygiene among residents of cities and villages and commitment to stay away from breeding wild and stray cats because it is the main source of parasite infection and the need to wear gloves for pregnant women when working in gardening or when cleaning cat houses to avoid contracting toxoplasmosis. The student was awarded a distinction. To see the pictures
