Technological and Scientific Incubators Conference
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of technological and scientific incubators in universities and the continued support of innovation and entrepreneurship and the promotion of national economic development. This came in his speech during the first conference of technological and scientific incubators in the presence of a group of representatives, the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, a number of deputy ministers, general directors, university presidents, assistants, teachers and employees, where he explained that the Iraqi government, from the first moment it assumed its legal and moral responsibilities towards the honorable Iraqi people, was setting the development file. Among its top priorities and at the forefront of its direct concern, as stipulated in its program and ministerial platform. He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research made a persistent effort to bridge the gap between educational outcomes and the labor market, and was keen to frame this vision through the ninth amendment to the law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which opened the way for establishing technological and scientific incubators in universities. The Minister of Education called for overcoming the bureaucratic procedures that may face the first steps in the work of these technological incubators, strengthening cooperation contexts between universities and society, developing opportunities for interaction between these two areas, bridging the gap between the theoretical and practical aspects, and meeting labor market variables and development requirements. The opening proceedings of the conference included a dialogue session in which the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, reviewed the ministry’s vision and policy regarding the technological incubators project and its importance in reducing the burden on the state budget, indicating that he will spare no effort or effort until the goals of this pioneering policy, which aims to involve capable youth, are achieved. To contribute to strengthening the national economy and embodying scientific and research knowledge in the form of pioneering, productive and innovative projects that are consistent with the goals of sustainable development. The conference proceedings witnessed a speech by the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee delivered by Dr. Adel Al-Rikabi, in which he congratulated the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Iraq’s ranking seventh globally and first in the Arab world in the Times Sustainable Development Classification, then a presentation by the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abd Dahd, about technological and scientific incubators and the advantages they bring. It will provide solutions in the field of graduate employment, while the conference concluded with a panel discussion for a number of specialists.
