The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Domestic Violence and its Causes

The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific workshop on (domestic violence and its causes). It was delivered by (Asst. Lect. Nada Khudair Tayeh) and (Asst. Lect. Mustafa Zuhair Hassan).
The workshop aimed to understand domestic violence by giving a definition of domestic violence. Knowledge of the types of domestic violence (physical, psychological, sexual, economic). In addition to studying global and local statistics on domestic violence.
The workshop also included several topics on the causes of domestic violence, represented by psychological factors (such as psychological disorders, repressed anger). Social factors (such as poverty, unemployment, culture and traditions). Economic factors (such as financial pressure, debt). Environmental factors (such as drug and alcohol abuse).
Researchers have called for attention to such topics in order to know the effects of domestic violence, which include the effects on the victims (psychological, physical, social) and the effects on children and the family in general, as well as the effects on society.
