The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Impact of Domestic Violence on Mental and Physical Health

The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific symposium entitled (The impact of domestic violence on mental and physical health). It was delivered by (Asst. Lect. Farah Abboud Saleh) and (Asst. Lect. Hala Khudair Abbas).
The symposium aimed to spread awareness about the forms of domestic violence and its negative effects on individuals and society, and provide information about the resources and services available to victims. In addition to training professionals in the fields of health, education and law on how to deal with cases of domestic violence.
The symposium also included several topics on violence, how to intervene safely and effectively, and to encourage governments and organizations to adopt effective policies to combat domestic violence. In addition to establishing cooperation networks between governmental institutions and non-governmental organizations to coordinate efforts in combating domestic violence.
Researchers have called for attention to such topics because the Department of Women’s Affairs in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has directed the holding of events under the title (No to Domestic Violence) to emphasize the importance of the family in building a healthy society that respects the human rights of all its members.
