The minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, directed to automate the calendar tests for the academic year 2025/2024 and proceed with the steps of developing a college specialized in artificial intelligence. This came when he chaired the fifth meeting of the Opinion Panel 2024 in the presence of members of the advanced staff and the heads of all public universities, where he stressed keeping up with global knowledge and its developments and completing the procedures of universities by the deliberate transition to electronic services that are part of the interest of citizens. He urged the continuous updating of educational curricula and programs, attention to developing students ‘ skills and qualifying them to interact with the local and global labor market, and intensifying work to support the technical and vocational education sector, which constitutes the basic infrastructure for the development of personnel and human capabilities. The meeting discussed a number of topics on the agenda and voted in the affirmative on the following resolutions: ▪️Prepare a strategic plan to support and develop research centers and study centers and strengthen their scientific fields at universities. ▪️The establishment of the Department of Health Physics and radiotherapy technologies at the Engineering Technical College of the Middle Euphrates Technical University. ▪️Establishment of a marketing management department at the Faculty of management and economics, Tikrit University. Introduction of the evening study at the Department of translation at the Faculty of Arts and the Department of artificial intelligence at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Anbar. ▪️Introduction of evening study in the medical physics branch of the physics department at the Faculty of Science, University of Babylon. ▪️Approval of the evaluation form of the Higher Diploma projects discussion Committee. The minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, concluded the meeting by directing all universities to take into account the requirements of public examinations for preparatory studies, which will be held in the environment of public and private universities, and contribute to the success of the examination process and respond to the requirements of public interest.
