The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, held an expanded meeting with the Turkish Higher Education Council and discussed the prospects for joint academic work and the contexts of understanding between the universities of the two countries. During the joint meeting, he explained the keenness of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its aspiration for more bilateral relations, scientific partnerships, and the development of cooperation paths at the level of scientific research, expressing the Ministry’s readiness to study the Turkish University project in Iraq and its specializations that serve the interests of the two neighboring countries. He added that university education in Iraq is moving within the scope of global standards in accordance with a strategic vision that enhances the environment of cooperation and coordination with countries in the region and the world in a way that serves the goals and mission of university institutions, noting that Iraqi universities have achieved positive steps in the field of improving quality and have achieved important indicators related to a solid academic reputation. For his part, the Chairman of the Turkish Higher Education Council, Dr. Arul Ozwar, expressed the desire of the Turkish side to develop joint cooperation programs and scientific and academic understandings, describing the visit of the Iraqi delegation headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, to Turkey as a historical turning point in terms of deepening ties between the two countries in the field of higher education and Scientific research
