The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific symposium on (Water in Iraq: Between Current Challenges and Future Sustainability Prospects), delivered by the lecturer, Dr. (Hashim Talib Matloob). The symposium aimed to identify the most important challenges facing water management in Iraq, and to discuss ways to overcome these current challenges and achieve sustainability in the future use of water. The definition of the concept of sustainability and the sustainable development goals that have been approved globally were discussed. The symposium also included several topics on the importance of water and the main water challenges that threaten the sustainability of water resources and water security in Iraq. The researcher called for attention to such topics in order to know the proposed strategies and the role of modern technology in improving water management and promoting sustainability.
