The Department of Life Sciences Discusses a Master’s Thesis on the Phenotypic and Molecular Diagnosis of Aspergillus Spp Fungi Isolated from the Air in Specific Areas between the Two Holy Shrines in the Holy Kerbala Governorate
The Department of Biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Kerbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Phenotypic and Molecular Diagnosis of Aspergillus Spp Fungi Isolated from the Air in Specific Areas between the Two Holy Mosques in Karbala Governorate). By the student (Mohamed Hakam Atwan), under the supervision of Professor Dr. (Ban Taha Mohamed). The message aimed to identify the rates of spread and pollution of atmospheric air in the area between the Two Holy Shrines in Karbala Governorate with the types of Aspergillus fungi and diagnose them at the phenotypic and molecular levels. Identifying species that are pathogenic to humans in the study area. The message also included collecting air samples using a steel sampling device (Air Simpler System) in Kerbala Governorate in specific areas between the Two Holy Shrines, including an open area and a covered area. Diagnosing fungal species phenotypically using traditional methods and molecularly using PCR technology.
The study recommended conducting a comprehensive study of all types of fungi isolated from the same area, using a sampling device for its efficiency and accuracy. Identifying fungal contaminants is very important in the early stages to avoid their health risks. And finding appropriate solutions to avoid the spread of fungi in cooperation with the relevant authorities. The necessity of genetic registration of samples for the purpose of confirming and establishing isolation and ensuring the researcher’s rights to work. The student received an excellent grade.
