Opening of the Exhibition Supporting Palestinian Women
Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel, and based on the directives of the Women’s Affairs Department/Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Honorable Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Idan Salman, representing the President of the University of Karbala, opened the exhibition that was held to support Palestinian women. All university colleges participated in this exhibition out of their belief in the supportive role of Iraqi women for the women of Gaza through the presence and participation of a number of deans, including the respected Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hassan Jamil Jawad, and the respected Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Dr. Muwaffaq Kadhom Mohsen, and in the presence of the head of the Women’s Empowerment Division. At the presidency of the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Yasmine Khudair Khalaf, in the presence of professors and college employees. The exhibition included paintings that showed the courage of Palestinian women and their standing in the face of difficult circumstances as a result of the Israeli bombing of areas in the Gaza Strip. The attendees stressed the importance of the Palestinian people obtaining their usurped rights, including their right to self-determination and to live in lasting peace. The University of Karbala witnessed many events and activities in support of the Palestinian issue, which is considered one of the important and pivotal issues for all the Iraqi people.
