Discussion of a master’s Thesis
The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Application and theoretical study of new barbiturate derivatives as corrosion inhibitors), by the student (Kazem Adnan Ali), and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hamida Eidan Salman and Professor Dr. Muhannad Musa Karim.
The thesis aims to synthesize and characterize new barbiturate derivatives that contain heterogeneous atoms in their structure, such as atoms (sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen) that are important in the field of corrosion, and diagnose them using 1H-NMR, 13CNMR, FT-IR, and CHNS techniques, and use them as inhibitors of corrosion of carbon steel alloy in an acidic solution containing (1M of H2SO4) with a temperature range of K (303-323) using a static stress device.
