The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala organized an in-person specialized course on (How to Transform Insects into Fossils), attended by (Professor Dr. Mona Ibrahim Jassim), (Professor Dr. Haider Naeem Muhammad), and with the participation of researchers and specialists from Universities and university colleges. The scientific course aimed to learn how to use a set of steps that must be followed to create a complete insect collection of scientific benefit. The symposium included several topics on the tools needed to collect insects, including insect collection nets, light traps, bait traps, and sieves. In addition to how to prepare insect models and how to use resin to make insect fossils. Researchers have called for attention to such topics because transforming insects into fossils is considered a handicraft art that is used to create works of art and unique and useful pieces with all materials and elements, especially with the availability of wood, stones, flowers, dry acrylic colors and oil paints to make these handicrafts.
