A lecturer from the Department of Biology publishes a research on demonstrating the antimicrobial activity of chitosan nano-particles and calcium carbonate nano-particles.
The lecturer (Mr. Dr. Ayser Ashour Khalaf) from the Department of biology in our college published a scientific research titled (The Antimicrobial Activity of Nanochitosan and Nano-CaCO3 against Some Bacteria) in the Babylon Medical Journal, which is classified within the Scopus container (Medical Journal of Babylon | Published by Wolters Kluwer – Medknow 2023). The research aimed to demonstrate the antimicrobial activity of chitosan nanoparticles and calcium carbonate nanoparticles Against bacterial species Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli, which are resistant to many antibiotics. The research results showed great effectiveness of nanoparticles against these pathogenic species, and the higher the concentration of nanoparticles, the greater its effectiveness as an antibacterial against them. We wish her further creativity and progress in the fields of research she is interested in serving our beloved Iraq, and may God Almighty grant her success.
