The Department of Chemistry Discusses a Master’s Thesis on Studying the Effect of Some Heavy Elements (Lead, Nickel, and Cobalt) on Schizophrenia Patients in the Holy Governorate of Karbala
The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Study of the Effect of Some Heavy Elements (Lead, Nickel and Cobalt on Patients with Schizophrenia in the Holy Governorate of Karbala) by the student (Shahad Hazem Ali), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sajid Hassan Kazar.) as first supervisor, and (Prof. Dr. Amer Fadel Al-Haidari) as second supervisor. The aim of the thesis was to find the statistical relationship between heavy metal concentrations and schizophrenia patients. In this study, the results showed that heavy metals may be an important factor in causing schizophrenia. The study concluded that heavy metals may be an important factor in the development of schizophrenia. The letter recommended that there is a need for more studies to clarify heavy metals and the causes of the development of schizophrenia, as well as replacing lead-laden water pipes with pipes that do not contain this element.
