The Department of Chemistry Discusses a Master’s Thesis on Determining the Chemical Content of Kidney Stones for Kidney Patients in the Holy City of Karbala

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Determining the Chemical Content of Kidney Stones for Kidney Patients in the Holy City of Karbala), by the student (Haneen Ahmed Abd), and under the supervision of (Prof. Dr. Sajid Hassan Kazar) as first supervisor, and (Asst. Prof. Rana Majeed Hameed) as second supervisor.
The aim of the thesis was to estimate the chemical components of kidney stones in patients in Karbala Governorate, compare the chemical components of kidney stones in Karbala Governorate with the chemical components of kidney stones in patients in other governorates, and determine the area most susceptible to kidney stones. Determine the age and gender most susceptible to the disease.
The message recommended drinking pure water in sufficient quantities daily, and not eating too much red meat and dairy products, and they should be close to the normal limit, i.e. 1000-1500 ml per day. The risk of forming new stones is actually high if the diet contains too little calcium, so patients should not completely exclude calcium from their diets, but may need to avoid sources of excess calcium, such as antacids and a low-sodium, high-sodium diet. Of potassium is one of the procedures recommended by doctors. The student received an excellent grade.
