The Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs Publishes a Research on Evaluating the Performance of a Mathematics Faculty Member in the College of Education for Pure Sciences in Light of NCTM Standards

Publishing Scientific Research

The Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs (Prof. Malik Mutlaq Takhit) published a scientific research entitled (Evaluating the performance of a mathematics faculty member in the College of Education for Pure Sciences in light of NCTM standards) in Al-Nasaq magazine.
The research boiled down to evaluating the performance of a mathematics faculty member in the College of Education for Pure Sciences in light of the (NCTM) standards at the University of Karbala. The research community consisted of all students in the Mathematics Department for morning study only for the academic year (2021-2022), who numbered (398) male and female students. The researcher took a purposive sample of (94) male and female students from the fourth stage, who constituted (23.36%) of the research population.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher reviewed the literature and educational skills that must be available to the faculty member. In light of this, the researcher organized a standard and adopted the (NCTM) standards for mathematical operations, which consist of five standards: (mathematical communication, problem solving, mathematical thinking and proof, mathematical representation). (Mathematical correlation) as a main tool for collecting data and was applied to specialist professors in the Department of Mathematics in the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala to identify the strengths and weaknesses in teaching performance according to (NCTM) standards. We wish him more creativity and progress in the fields of research he is interested in serving our beloved Iraq, and may God Almighty grant him success.
