The Department of Chemistry Discusses a Master’s Thesis on the Practical and Theoretical Diagnosis of the Properties of Nanostructures of Zinc Sulfide

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences discussed a master’s thesis by the student (Manahil Ali Harijah Ali), entitled (Practical and Theoretical Diagnosis of the Properties of Nanostructures of Zinc Sulfide), under the supervision of: Prof. Dr. (Asst. Prof. Ola Mahdi Abd Ali) as first supervisor. And (Prof. Dr. Nagham Mohi Kamel) as second supervisor from the College of Science.
The aim of the thesis was to characterize the nanopolymer using several FT_IR, 1HNMR and AFM techniques, and the particle size of the polymer was measured by the Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) technique. It was concluded that the nanopolymer tends to adsorb dyes (Eosin yellow dye and Wrights stain Methyl orange dye) from aqueous solutions, which were removed in this study.
After extensive scientific discussion and listening to the student’s defense of her thesis, her research method, and her use of sources and references, the thesis was approved with distinction. Congratulations to the student, to her two supervisors, and to the Chemistry Department at the University of Karbala for this great achievement and for further creativity in the service of Great Iraq.
