The Department of Life Sciences Discusses a Master’s Thesis on Studying the Protective Role of the Aqueous Extract of the Mulberry Plant

The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Study of the Protective Role of the Aqueous Extract of the Mulberry Plant Morus Alba on some Physiological and Histological Parameters in Male Rabbits Treated with Lead Acetate) by the student (Fatima Ali Karim), and under the supervision of (Prof. Rasha Abdul Amir Jawad).

The aim of the message was to measure blood parameters (red blood cells, total number of white blood cells, and hemoglobin), and to measure some hormonal parameters (testosterone, luteinizing hormone, and follicle-stimulating hormone). The message also included that white berries contain antioxidant properties that help support the anti-defense system, and that white berries contain protective properties that help preserve testicular and epididymal tissue from damage due to exposure to lead.The letter recommended conducting studies to determine the effect of toxic substances, especially lead acetate, on the male reproductive system of rabbits, the extent of their accumulation and their effect on the testicles and epididymis. Explaining the benefit of the active compounds in white mulberry fruit extract after isolating them to reduce the side effects of toxic substances in laboratory animals, and introducing the dangers of heavy metals, including lead, especially to workers who are in contact with heavy metals, and conducting periodic examinations for workers who are in contact with heavy metals. The student received an excellent grade.
