Fifty-three Iraqi universities and colleges registered competitive positions in the Times Highereducation Classification for Sustainable Development for the year 2023. The published official results (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/impactranking) indicated an increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges that have reserved their positions in the Times Highereducation Classification for Sustainable Development to 53 universities. After it was 44 in the previous version, and it was topped by the University of Basra, which ranked (401-600) globally, then the University of Babylon (601-800) and the University of Baghdad (601-800), while the University of the Future (801-1000) and the University of Kufa (801-1000) won ). It should be noted that the British Times classification for sustainable development assesses 1,591 educational institutions through the achievement of a number of United Nations goals out of 17 goals, including quality of education, health and well-being, partnerships, industry and innovation. It is worth noting that Iraqi universities and colleges record their increasing competition in international rankings, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad appeared within the chemical engineering major, the (The Times) classification, in which eight universities are located, and the (QS) classification, in which there are five universities. Universities and the (Greenmetric) classification, in which seventy-three Iraqi universities and colleges entered, and the URA classification, in which four Iraqi universities are located, in addition to the (Webometrics) classification, which recorded the attendance and competition of more than one hundred Iraqi universities and colleges.
