The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, participated in the scientific workshop entitled (Quality Education is a Path to academic accreditation and international classifications), which was held within the program of the nineteenth international scientific conference of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad. At the beginning of the scientific workshop, the Minister of Education stated that the Ministry of Higher Education, through its strategy, is working to develop the medical education environment by achieving scientific partnerships with international universities and colleges, providing scientific research requirements, enabling universities to achieve their goals, and providing training programs for students and faculty members in the medical and research fields. In this context, the head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, reviewed the importance of ensuring quality and accreditation, indicating that the Ministry has formed twenty accreditation councils in various specializations, including the Medical Accreditation Council, which was formed in 2008 and began to provide programmatic accreditations and bridge areas of understanding and coordination with the International Federation of Medical Education (IFEM). WFME) to obtain international accreditation.
For his part, the President of the University of Baghdad, Dr. Mounir Al-Saadi, said that the university is working to develop research tracks that contribute directly to scientific and educational advancement, enhance the values of cooperation and competition among students, and contribute to providing services to society.
In this context, the Dean of the College of Medicine, specialists, researchers, and experts presented their perceptions and proposals that flow into the course of medical education and what it requires of updating the level of programs and changes to the requirements and needs of Iraqi society.
