International Math Day Festival


Celebrating the International Day of Mathematics under the auspices of the respected President of Karbala University, Dr. (Bassem Khalil Al-Saeedi), and the respected President of Al-Zahra University (may blessings and peace be upon her) for girls, the respected Dr. (Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani). The Department of Mathematics at the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics – College of Education / Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for girls, the Directorate of Education of Karbala, and the Al-Hussein (Peace be upon Him) Charitable Center held a festival entitled “The Third Mathematics Festival” on Tuesday 2023 3/14 at Umm Abha Hall.
The festival was attended by a group of assistant presidents, deans, professors and researchers from various governorates of Iraq, as well as a group of university and school students. The festival began with a fragrant recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Dr. (Muhammad Kazem Al-Mamouri), then reading Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the righteous martyrs of Iraq, and then the Iraqi national anthem. The President of Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her), Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla, delivered her speech in which she welcomed the attendees and indicated the importance of the scientific gatherings held in the university.
The respected Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Aidan Salman, also delivered her speech in which she spoke about this distinguished day and about scientific cooperation between universities based on the constant concern to keep abreast of developments in this field and to highlight the importance of the Mathematics Department at the university and the activities it organizes on various occasions.
The Dean of the College of Education at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her), Dr. Iman Samir Baheya, gave a lecture entitled (How does mathematics tell us about what happens at the crime scene?). At the end of the festival, shields and certificates of appreciation were distributed to some of the participating and present figures in the festival. And moving to the University of Karbala to attend the activities of the festival held in the Department of Mathematics / College of Education for Pure Sciences.
