Meeting of the Minister of Education with a European Coordinator for the Development of Archaeological Cooperation with the Universities of the European Union
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, received Dr. Niccolo Marchetti, the European coordinator of the BANUU project, which is adopted by the European Union to develop and protect the archaeological and historical environment in the world. The meeting reviewed the scientific contributions of Iraqi universities and their European counterparts in the field of rehabilitation of archaeological sites in many governorates, especially Mosul, Babel, Dhi Qar and Qadisiyah, and the steps of continuous coordination for the purposes of training, rehabilitation and skills development. During the meeting, the Minister of Education stressed the importance of developing joint programs with European universities and enhancing understanding in the fields of scholarships, exchange of students and professors, and joint scientific research, pointing to the keenness of Iraqi university institutions to meet the requirements of cooperation with archaeological research teams of European Union universities and scientific coordination between these institutions through approved contexts. . For his part, the European coordinator Nicolo Marchetti explained the keenness of European universities to develop partnership and enhance the context of understanding regarding specialized scholarships granted to Iraqi students and to intensify scientific and training programs. At the same time, he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the interest shown by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop cooperation and joint action.
