The Minister of Higher Education Meets the Heads of the Committees of the Deans of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, received the heads of the committees of the deans of the faculties of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy.
The Minister of Education stressed during the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Anis Khalil, Chairman of the Deans’ Committee of Medical Faculties, Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, Head of the Committee of Deans of Dental Faculties, and Dr. Sarmad Hashem Al-Khatib, Head of the Committee of Deans of Faculties of Pharmacy, obligating the new medical faculties in private university education institutions to conduct scientific twinning with international universities Sober by drawn time ceilings that ensure the achievement of the scientific and societal goals of the specialized colleges and the selection of the dean of the college through the committee of deans of medical colleges exclusively and by the conditions stipulated in the Civil Higher Education Law No. (25) of 2016, as well as conducting final exams for students of medical colleges in Private universities from the Faculty of Medicine in public universities and under the supervision of the Committee of Deans of Medical Faculties in Iraq.
He explained that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research dealt with a legal and professional vision with the file of creating medical colleges at the Al-Kafeel and Al-Ain universities, and checked all the details and requirements required in light of the approved scientific standards, the opinion of the Ministries of Health and Planning, and the course of procedures that began with the application for incorporation two years ago. Its exclusive academic powers are in estimating the urgent need to accommodate the increasing number of students with high grades and provide specialized educational services and clinical services in accompanying teaching hospitals.
The attendees discussed ways to attract medical teaching staff with higher degrees, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, and to improve the infrastructure and its absorptive capacities and educational hospitals in line with the population growth index. At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Education pledged to work in a team spirit in the higher education and scientific research system to consolidate the educational process and obtain outputs that embody the actual response to the requirements of sustainable development, while praising the creativity and excellence award exam for the first graduates of medical colleges in Iraq.
