Follow-up and Evaluation of Certificate Equivalency Procedures for Iraqi Students in Lebanon
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, directed the formation of a ministerial team to follow up and evaluate diploma equivalency procedures for Iraqi students in Lebanon. This came when he met the Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ali Al-Habhab, who was a guest at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of the Director General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations. The two sides reviewed indicators of technical handling that characterize the certification and equivalency procedures of the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The Minister of Education stressed the importance of preserving the reputation and history of our academic and educational institutions and developing the level of administrative dealing with students and auditors, especially Iraqis who are registered in a number of Lebanese universities for which the Iraqi Ministry of Education issued a recommendation. The Minister of Education expressed his hope that positive solutions would be found to overcome the comments in terms of dealing with Iraqi students and improve the level of the technical and administrative style of the certificates equivalency and attestation file in a way that ensures the safety and authenticity of documents for international students away from indicators of delay and complexity. In turn, His Excellency the Ambassador revealed an expected Lebanese decision to solve these problems faced by foreign students in Lebanon and to form a committee specialized in this file to arrange the data and priorities and organize them in an appropriate procedural organization.
