Two Lecturers from the Department of Biology Publish Research on the Environmental Effects of Nano-powder against some Microbes Isolated from the Oral Cavity
The lecturers( Asst. Lect. Sarmad Mahdi Kazem) and the lecturer (Asst. Lect. Sawsan Samir Hadi) published a paper entitled (Environmental Effects of Nano-powder against some microbes isolated from the oral cavity). The journal is categorized within Scopus Impact Factor (Q3). The results of the research were summarized to study the ability of nanopowder to inhibit the growth of microbes in certain proportions according to the type of microbe, by changing the environmental characteristics of the medium in which microbes grow, and this is done after isolating and determining the type of microbe by taking a set of oral cavity swabs and these microbes were obtained ( Streptococcus sp., Staphylococcus aureus sp., Candida sp., Actinomyces sp., Actinobacillus sp., Bacillus sp.) in percentages of 37.6%, 18%, 16.4%, 12.8%, 9.5%. 5.7%, respectively. And after the process of producing nano powder, which consists of three crystalline types (sulfur, carbon, and chloride), which were prepared mechanically, in stages and successive steps, to obtain particles through which the desired purpose can be achieved, in order to examine their efficiency and ability to inhibit and prevent the growth of microbes in the agricultural medium.
