A Lecturer from the Department of Biology Publishes a Scientific Article on Face Mites

The educational staff at the College of Education for Pure Sciences/Department of biology, Assistant Professor Dr. (Hanan Zuwer Mikhlif) obtained the acceptance to publish a scientific article tagged with the title (Face Moths) by the Scientific Articles Committee at the Presidency of Karbala University after the article fulfilled all publication conditions. (Professor Dr. Hanan Zuwer Mikhlif) mentioned that Demodex is known as Demodex, and it is one of the acarids that parasitize on humans and is widespread in the world. More than 140 species of mites, only two are found in the human body, Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis. Where the type Demodex folliculorum (Demodex folliculorum), which is known as (face mite), affects some areas of the face, as it is the only host for this type. In the hair follicles by needle-shaped oral parts. And the most affected area is the eyelid, where the injury leads to the loss of eyelashes and the occurrence of chronic inflammation in the Meibomian gland (MGD), which leads to a lack of fat in the conjunctiva, and thus conjunctivitis and keratitis that threatens the sight.
