Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala held a scientific symposium entitled (The Risks of Thyroid Cancer in the Future Spread), delivered by each of the Prof. Ashwaq Kazem Al-Yasari and M. Farah Jawad Kazem. The focus of the symposium was on health education for the community about thyroid cancer, which ranks second after breast cancer among the most common types of cancer that affect women. The symposium aimed to know the clinical symptoms and methods of diagnosis in addition to how to deal with the stage according to the strategies used in the global protocol. As well as knowing the leading types of cancers in Iraq in 2020, according to the statistics of the World Health Organization. The lecturers recommended adhering to a healthy lifestyle and a diet rich in iodine, avoiding stress and fatigue, and avoiding bad eating habits that contribute to the risk of disease, such as processed meat and canned food. The symposium was attended by the head of the department and a group of professors and teachers.
