A study at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Discusses the Preparation of Silver Nanoparticles and their Insertion between Zinc Oxide Layers and the Study of the Resulting Structure

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

The Department of Chemistry, College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Karbala, discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Preparation of silver nanoparticles and inserting them between layers of zinc oxide and studying the resulting structure), for the student (Hussein Sobhi Alwan), and under the supervision of Prof. Abbas Matroud Bachi. The thesis aims to prepare hybrid nanocomposites consisting of prepared silver nanoparticles sandwiched between zinc oxide layers, the aim of which is to explain the surface properties of zinc oxide, and to diagnose the resulting hybrid nanocomposite by several techniques, including FT-IR, AFM, XRD, SEM in order to know the explanations for the surface activity of the oxide. Zinc after the crushing process, then studying the loading of the antibiotic drug Rifampicin on the resulting nanocomposite, and the process of controlling the release of this antibiotic was studied according to well-known mathematical equations, which are the zero rank, the first false rank, and the second false rank. The thesis showed the possibility of inserting the prepared and industrially prepared silver nanoparticles, and the laboratory nano-silver is easier by inserting between the layers of zinc oxide, and the success of obtaining nanosilver with dimensions ranging from 1- 100 nanometers after confirming the microscopic examinations and X-rays. The industrial ones, and the possibility of loading a nano-hybrid antibody from the anti-rifampicin (to know the control of liberation. The researcher recommended studying the pore sizes of the resulting material according to the Dubenn equation, studying the diffraction of the resulting compound and determining the new crystal levels according to the Sparks equation, and determining the surface activity of the compounds produced through oxidation reactions and other shorthand. The student got a very good grade.
