The student, Zainab Salam Hussein, from the Department of Physics – College of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Karbala, was selected as a member of the Iraqi team, which consists of 9 participants from all governorates of Iraq in the International Campaign to Discover Asteroids affiliated with IASC (International Astronomical search collaboration) and NASA space agency headed by Professor Dr. Iyad Shaker, astrophotographer from Erbil Governorate, representative of World Space Week activities, and member of the IAU coordinator in Iraq. This campaign will be held in the second month of the coming year 2021, with the participation of many countries of the world. seconds when the asteroid is discovered. The student Zainab Salam explained that her selection as one of the team members came through her passion for cosmology and space and her participation in several competitions, astronomical seminars, and an amateur club. Several scientific articles on the Iraqi Scientific page and the Iraq Telescope page about the world of space. The student also participated in several scientific courses specializing in cosmology and astronomy from international universities such as (Tokyo, Arizona, Copenhagen, and Caltech Institute) through the Coursea platform, and she also documented a video of the International Astronomy Union for the occasion of woman and girls in Astronomy.
