The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences held an electronic training course entitled (Using the ATR-FTIR Device), delivered by Asst. Lect. Osama Hamid Rashid and Asst. Lect. Mohamed Taher Issa and Asst.Lect. Nada Habib Obaid. The aim of the training course was an introduction to FTIR technology and the scientific basis on which this technology is based. It also included a review of the most important effective aggregates in the FTIR spectrum and how to diagnose and interpret them. The ATR technology, its mechanism of action and the advantages it offers compared to traditional FTIR devices were also reviewed. Then, the most important features of the ATR-FTIR device located in the service laboratory in the Department of Chemistry – College of Education for Pure Sciences and the method of Using the device and the accompanying software in diagnosing organic compounds
