The Department of Biology Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis tagged (a survey study of the plants of the date eye district in the holy Karbala) by the student (Hawraa Saeed Taher Al-Saadi), and under the supervision of Prof.Dr. (Nepal Metair Trad), on Tuesday 5/1/2021, and the aim of the study was to identify the wild natural plants covered with seeds of monocot and cyclamen and gymnosperms in the eye of dates and classify them scientifically during the specified study period, and to study some aspects The biological diversity of the Ain al-Tamr district in terms of flowering plant wealth, identifying the cultivated plants from covered with seeds with their two cotyledons and classifying them scientifically during the specified study period as well, and stating the importance of field surveys of natural ecosystems in general and plant flora in particular and working to protect and rationalize their investment and control Its conditions constantly. . The discussion resulted in several recommendations, including: The biological diversity in the Ain al-Tamr region in particular and Iraq in general must be protected and permanent benefits of wild plant species that are genetic assets should be achieved due to their economic and environmental importance in the field of combating deadly desertification in Iraq as they are vulnerable to over-exploitation unconsciously, and the need to conduct surveys. A field for natural ecosystems in general and plant ones in particular, and monitoring them and detecting threatened, rare and endemic species in order to work to protect them, rationalize their investment and monitor their conditions continuously, environmental awareness of the benefits and harms of wild plants, especially toxic and harmful ones, and their study in Iraq, the need to give wild legumes a special importance because they come at the forefront of invested plants In grazing, food and fodder production, gum extraction, medicinal and aromatic drugs, serious and supportive work on studying the treasures of plant wealth in all governorates of Iraq and establishing a botanical museum for them in Iraq, adhering to the Convention for the Protection of Biological Diversity in Iraq with the Nature Protection Organization, which was ratified for the year 2009. The student obtained an excellent grade.
