Vision, Mission and Goals

Vision

The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala seeks to be one of the best colleges in the university in terms of being more sustainable during human development activities. The university has taken it upon itself to be a role model in the region by making efforts to reduce pollution and encourage the use of environmentally friendly energy sources. This can be achieved mainly through multiple directions including industrial consulting, campus equipment, educational curricula, scientific research, and spreading cultural awareness among students and employees.

Mission

The College of Education for Pure Sciences seeks to achieve social justice and equality and provide a decent life for all, regardless of their gender, race, economic or social background. It also seeks to achieve environmental sustainability by reducing pollution and managing natural resources in a sustainable manner. The message of sustainable development includes eliminating poverty, hunger and social injustice and promoting well-being for all. It also encourages taking action to combat climate change, preserve biodiversity and conserve natural resources.

Goals

To achieve the goals of sustainable development, the College of Education for Pure Sciences seeks the following:
1- Promote the scientific research towards sustainable development and reducing environmental pollution in various scientific trends and specializations.
2- Intensify efforts to continuously increase vegetation cover inside and outside the university to reach a carbon-neutral environment.
3- Continuous urging to consider rationalizing the use of energy, water, and other resources during equipping, manufacturing, and research.
4- Using environmentally friendly energy sources to generate electrical energy within the university and gradually eliminating the need for the main electrical grid.
5- Continuous development of the 3R waste management program to reduce, reuse, and recycle paper and plastic products.
