The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, sponsored the signing of two agreements for the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations and the University of Mosul with the Italian University of Bologna. During the signing ceremony that took place in Italy, the Minister of Education stressed the importance of the international partnership, which is in the interest of developing the academic cooperation environment between the two countries, especially in light of the rapid scientific developments in various fields and disciplines. He explained that Iraqi universities are distinguished by their academic presence in international forums, noting that their current results in international rankings and their balance of scientific research in solid containers and their response and dealing with challenges made them worthy of these partnerships with international universities through programs and agreements that achieve the goals of the Iraqi academic institution in the field of knowledge and community service. . In this context, the President of the Italian University of Bologna, Professor Giovanni Mollari, praised the understanding and coordination with the Iraqi side, the cross-fertilization of experiences, the keenness to crystallize climates of purposeful cooperation and the openness of the Iraqi Ministry of Education to international educational systems, especially the (Bologna Process) system, and the move towards modernizing the fields of education. The two agreements, which were signed by the Director General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazem Baqer Taher, and the President of Mosul University, Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, included several axes, including scientific cooperation in the field of archeology and excavation, cultural and academic exchange programs, scholarships and fellowships for Iraqi students in rare specialties, scientific research projects between the two sides, and joint supervision. . On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, the Iraqi delegation headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited the Italian Universities of Bologna and Venice and was briefed on scientific galleries, libraries and specialized museums. The delegation was accompanied by archaeological expert Nicolo Marchetti, who expressed his thanks to the Iraqi universities for the continuous cooperation.
