Higher Education Announces the Acceptance of More than 147 Thousand Students in Iraqi Universities

Announcement of the Results of the Central Admission for the Academic Year 2021-2022


The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, announced the acceptance of 147,606 male and female students in Iraqi public universities as part of the central admission for the academic year 2022/2021.
He said during the conference on announcing the results of the central admission that 143 thousand and 296 students were accepted into colleges and institutes within the central admission channel from the outputs of the first and second courses of preparatory study, and (4,310) students within the direct admission channel.
He added that the number of students accepted from graduates of the biological branch amounted to (74,782) male and female students, while the number of students accepted from graduates of the applied branch reached (23488) male and female students, and 39007) were accepted from graduates of the literary branch, pointing to the acceptance of (6019) students within the acceptance channel. The Minister of Education added that the number of students accepted into the central admission channel in the medical group reached (8055), and the minimum limits for the faculties of medicine reached (99,17), dentistry (98,33), and pharmacy (97,83).
He pointed out that the number of students admitted to the faculties of engineering (13551), science (18534), law (3556), administration and economics (10,868), medical and health technologies (1279), nursing (2606), veterinary medicine (1673), agriculture (3241), arts (5204), and languages ​​( 1217), education and basic education (28049), medical institutes (11326) and institutes of technology (6884).
The Minister of Education set 12/19/2021 as the date for the beginning of the first semester for first-year students and directed universities to start the procedures for student registration and to approve the data of the results of the central admission published on the official website of the ministry and the studies, planning and follow-up portal.
